The clock stroked 1:15 AM, the time apt for cozy sleep inside the blanket during chilly January of Delhi. But someone had different plans, away from the normal mundane one’s of others. He just crouched out of the blanket forcing his tiny legs out of it. Giving his best effort to push away the blanket, he looked to his both sides. Sleep was at its best on both sides. But he was in no mood to go back to it. So he informed his neighbors in night, about his ideas of adventure and fun to be taken at that time, forcing them to get up leaving their cozy bed, asking for everything from Grandma to toys to play with and water and eatables etc etc…
Well that was the scene in my bedroom yesterday night. It took me and my husband effortful 2 hours to coax him and get him back to sleep.
At that time I felt so envious of his independence. He had no worries of waking up early in morning to prepare for or rush to the workplace. He has all the independence to decide for himself when to do what. Decisions coming directly from heart with no if and else loops, no tension of what will anyone say, no worry of getting their egos hurt.
These are the days of childhood when nothing but the instinct of ours guides our course of action. Just follow your heart is the inbuilt mantra of the childhood. All of us have our part of life spent in the magic world of childhood and always wish to relive them. The reason is simple, we all want to shun away all our worries and stress and be free and light like a child.
Growing up with time is rule of nature and could not be changed, in fact should not be changed. So what is the solution, I mean if we cannot stop ourselves from growing up than how to live a easy, simple and happy life.
Time just adds to our physical appearance as we grow up, it does not force any change in our nature. Whatever we add/delete from our nature is completely known to us and we can change it if we wish. So blaming the natural process of growing up, for our stressful way of life is not correct. People usually say that life is not child’s play but I personally feel that those who see it as child’s play are luckiest and happiest among the whole lot.
Simplicity and innocence are two qualities everyone is born with. Now it is our duty to preserve them and not allow the negatives to erode them.
Ganeshji is the integral part of Hindu mythology. If paid attention to one can easily note that in all the tales and moral stories related to Him, one thing that comes out about his nature is his simplicity and innocence. The fact that he does not get involved in the complexities of life and takes his decisions driven by simple thoughts of life makes him most popular. So for those who pray to him and ask Him to do all mangal for them, I think there is no need for same. He has already showcased to you the secret of the successful and happy stress free life. Just follow his ways of living and enjoy.
Let us start with observing a child around us and understand his ways of taking decisions. Follow the same approach and we all will be able to notice the difference. Shun away the complexities involved with showing off and ego hassles and we will find the life closer to us.
For those of us who find these ideas least practical and see life as much serious business, I have nothing to suggest. But will just like to say “give it a try, if you will not gain anything I am sure nothing is at loss’
